If you are just starting your weight loss journey in 2015 here are some things to be aware of. If you’ve been on a fitness journey for a while, these will sound pretty familiar!
We all have expectations while begining our weight loss journey but those expectations change drastically once you are in the midst of your weight loss journey!
1. Shredding pounds and losing weight is a slow process. “Slow progress is progress”…but what may not stick is just that, it is a SLOW process and a very very slow one. (Just tryna stress it to ya!) But keep at it. Keep eating healthy and being active and you will see the results!
2. THE SCALE IS BI-POLAR!
You will see ups and downs as your weight fluctuates. This is because muscle weights more than fat. Don’t obsess over the scale and trust the weight loss process. In the end you will be happy with your results!
3. YOU WILL CRAVE THE BAD FOOD ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY, STAY STRONG!
I don’t know why this happens (maybe our rebel nature) but you will crave what you cannot have (or shouldn’t have.) Those twinkies you never dreamed of eating in the past will suddenly look very yummy to you. No one said losing weight was going to be easy. Fight those craving and stay strong!
4. WATER WILL BECOME YOUR BESTIE!
If you’ve never liked drinking water in the past, that will change very soon. Because you want to get rid of those sugary unhealthy beverages, you will cling to water and learn to love it!
5. EXERCISE WILL BECOME FUN!
Yup, I said it. FUN AND EXERCISE IN THE SAME SENTENCE? Yes my dear! You are going to love it and look forward to it! It’s a beautiful thing!
I hope this helps someone out there who does not know what to look forward to during your weight loss journey. Get ready for struggle and achievements all at the same time. It’s a beautiful thing!

After having one of those days I found it necessary to motivate not only myself towards my weight loss journey in 2015 but YOURS! Watch this video as I mention the top 10 ways to stay motivated through your weight loss, fitness, health journey!
1. It is important to realize your potential! Know that you are worth it and the healthy eating and exercise you do will pay off!
2. Change up your workouts! You don’t want to get bored doing the same 30 day shred video etc, this can also help you avoid a plateau which are no fun by the way!
3. Motivational props! Start a sweat stash and see the accomplishments you’ve done! A great visual way to see how far you’ve come!
4. Journal! Journaling is a great way to track you’re journey and see how far you’ve come from day one
5. Vent! Relieve yourself of stress so that the struggles you deal with do not stop you from continuing! YOU CAN DO IT!!
6. Take Measurements: DITCH THE SCALE! Taking measurements is a better way to see your progress. Check your arms, legs and tummy!
7. Buy new workout clothes! Make it feel like you just started your journey! Feel good in your skin!
8. Get down to your favorite song! You know that Beyonce song you love so much? BLAST THE ISH and start running! See how much faster you’ll go!
9. Watch motivational video! Go on instagram, Pinterest or message boards and get inspired by peoples journeys LIKE ME! Humor boards on Pinterest for health and fitness are hilarious! It will make your day!
10. Accountability! Let people know you are on a journey so that you STICK TO YOUR WORD! It will force you to stay dedicated and avoid Mcdonalds during your weight loss journey this year!
