5 Min Guided Savasana Meditation for Relaxation Response | ChriskaYoga – Meditation for the Parasympathetic Nervous System

Hi! I’m Christina, and welcome to my yoga YouTube channel, ChriskaYoga! In this video, I am sharing a 5 minute guided savasana meditation for relaxation, to reduce anxiety, and for overall wellbeing.

Practicing savasana is an excellent way to activate that relaxation response in your body also known as the parasympathetic nervous system. It is so important to do this to counter act the sympathetic nervous system, a.k.a. “fight or flight” that we encounter regularly from leading such stressful daily lives.

Practicing savasana, regular meditation, restorative yoga, yin yoga, and pranayama yogic breathing exercises are an amazing way to give your mind and your body a break from all the stressful situations that we are faced with. This is much needed and often neglected by many of us.

So, I really hope you take the time today (or when you can) to give this short meditation a try. You can always come back to it whenever you need to as well!

I hope you enjoy it! :)

Relax ~ Rest ~ Restore
Savasana ~ The most important pose of your yoga session. Receive the stillness, and let go, so your body, mind and spirit deeply rests in silence, rests in peace. Namaste~
